TRANSPORT PACKAGING FORUM
Even considering the current economic challenges we all are facing,
ISTA's Transport Packaging Forum delivered yet another quality program
to over 175 attendees this April in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many of the
surveys claimed this year's Forum was the best ever! Click

Happenings! The program included twenty six outstanding technical presentations
with information the attendees could immediately take back to their
companies. Dennis Young of MSU School of Packaging provided the keynote
address with an insightful look at the past and into the future from
his Grandchildren's perspective. Other presentations covered sustainability,
supply chain requirements and package performance, testing protocols,
distribution environment measuring, computer aided package design,
and much more.
The Forum's welcome reception included lots of networking while watching the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Game. Attendees even had an opportunity to play some hoops themselves at the Pop-A-Shot games throughout the room.
Twenty nine organizations presented their products and services at the Exhibitors Reception and at an Exhibitors Breakfast the next morning. With delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere, these sessions were very conducive to business discussions and productive networking.
CPLP Workshops: The day before the Forum officially started, Certified
Packaging Laboratory Professional workshops were held for both Technician
and Technologist levels. A total of 13 new CPLP certificates were
earned, with a number of people taking both classes. (Check
out pages 10 and 11 of the May 2009 ista views to read more.)
Technical Council Meeting: A meeting of ISTA's Technical Council was held in
conjunction with the Forum. (Check

R. David LeButt Award: During the Forum, David Shires was awarded
the R. David LeButt award. (Check

The Forum was fantastic and it was wonderful to see everyone who
attended. We'll be posting a complete overview of the event very soon.
