ISTA Procedure Review Phase 2 - CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
In June 2011 we conducted a survey of all ISTA Certified Labs, hearing back from approximately 1/3 of those invited to reply. The results of this survey, which reported the number of tests performed in the labs over a 12-month period, along with data showing how many test reports for each procedure and project have been submitted to ISTA, were reviewed by a workgroup consisting of ISTA member representatives to determine which ISTA Procedures and Projects will remain in publication and which will be discontinued. A proposal is being drafted now that will be submitted to the ISTA Testing Council and Technical Board for a final decision. We are now ready to move onto Phase 2. This phase will involve a comprehensive review, by Series, of each ISTA Procedure and Project that ISTA will continue to publish. This review will include a look at accuracy, both editorial and technical, and consistency throughout the procedures and projects. We are looking for participation in 3 new Workgroups from ISTA member representatives to begin this comprehensive review. The Phase 2 Workgroups will not require travel, however there will be time involved in both reviewing the procedures and projects and giving detailed input. We will review each Series separately but concurrently, so that the efforts of the Workgroups are focused and complete. There will be a Workgroup reviewing the 1-Series, 2-Series and 3-Series procedures and projects. Once the Series review is complete the ISTA Testing Council will consider all comments for incorporation into the protocols. If you would like to participate in one or more of the Phase 2 Workgroups, please complete form linked below. When signing up to participate please consider the amount of time you can spend and the quality of input you will be able to give. Click here to participate. We are not considering any changes until 2013 because we want to devote as much time as possible for the Phase 2 review; therefore there is no deadline on Phase 2 at this time. Phase 3, which will look at the format of procedures and projects, will begin after Phase 2 is complete.
